#2 Middle School Team Building

On Monday, middle school went to the norval outdoor education centre. Our goal was to work toghether yet do it in a fun way. I think there were a lot of things our team did well toghether.


I think that our group worked toghether well and we all showed leadership in diffrent ways, and we definetly had fun doing it. One of the experiences of showing leadership and coroperation was on the zig zag river. The point in this activity was to get the whole group over to the other side without touching the ground but there was 4 islands. The probleme was that there was 4 islands and 3 boards and not all the boards were the right size.when we got the zig zag river we were all confident. When we started everyone was encouraging each other and we each took turns communicating our ideas. we all worked toghether well.


Even though in the zig zag we all worked toghether well on the wizard walk it was a little diffrent. The wizard walk was the first activity we did. The point of the wizard walk was to get everyone to another plat form. The difficultys were that you had to walk on wires without touching the ground. if you did you were sent back to the beggining. There were a few ropes to help balance you but we all had to share them and comunicate. I think that we all wanted to do as much as possible and we didn't listen to each other. Some of us were way to excited and was in need of music class and some were just trying to get there point across by yelling and screaming. We did get the task done but it took a while for us all to calm down and listen to each other.


The secound time we did the wizard walk we were more efficient. We learned what we needed to acomplish and we went and did it. We weren't so excited and we all listened to each other to beat our last time.


After all of the activities and the drum circle the day was over. i think that it was a fun way to learn about team work and leadership. I liked the idea of doing diffrent activities every year. The activities were a lot of fun and it was a fun doing the drum circle. It was a fun day and a nice break from the classroom. I am really looking forward to next year and doing the grade 8 activities.
